The London Coliseum is home to The English National Opera but also plays host to dance and theatre. The big, bold and beautiful building is in fact London’s largest theatre with a capacity of 2,359, topping even the mighty London Palladium.
The original programme for the theatre was a mix of music hall and variety theatre, with the grand finale – a full-scale revolving chariot race – requiring the stage to revolve. The theatre was one of the first two places in Britain to sell Coca-Cola (the other was Selfridges).
