OperaUpClose returns to London, bringing its trademark intimacy and immediacy to Tosca’s story of love, loyalty and corruption.

Set in the dying days of communism as the government resorts to terrifying levels of surveillance and intimidation in an attempt to cling to power, Puccini’s taut thriller charts the story of the title character, a fiery but vulnerable singer, whose life is torn apart when her lover helps a political prisoner escape.

The production sees acclaimed company OperaUpClose reunite with the Soho theatre following their Olivier Award-winning collaboration on La Bohème.
