The Suit is the musical tale of a lover’s inventive revenge, directed by the hugely influential Peter Brook.
In the dusty heat of 1950s Sophiatown, South Africa, a young worker returns home to fin his wife in bed with her lover. Though the lover escapes, he leaves his suit behind. The only revenge taken by the husband is that his wife must treat the suit as an honoured house guest. But how long can she endure this pitiless sentence.
Brook, who co-directs The Suit with Marie Hélène Estienne, has directed more than 50 plays, operas and films, and is the founder of the International Centre for Theatre Research.
The Suit is playing at the Young Vic as part of World Stages London.
