The School For Scandal is Richard Brinsley Sheridan’s searing lampoon of a society obsessed by wit, fashion and public reputation. With its glorious cast of characters including Snake, Sir Benjamin Backbite and the Surface brothers, this is a high-spirited, comic masterpiece.
The School For Scandal is directed by Barbican Associate Director Deborah Warner, who returns to the venue following Julius Caesar. Her recent productions in London include Mother Courage And Her Children at the National Theatre and Messiah for English National Opera.
