The Pilgrim’s Progress is ENO’s first ever staging of Vaughan Williams’ rapturous response to one of the best-loved adventure stories of the English language.
Following ENO’s acclaimed productions of Williams’ Sir John In Love and Riders In The Sea, The Pilgrim’s Progress charts the trials, tribulations, temptations and revelations that Bunyan’s questing pilgrim encounters on his physical and spiritual progress from one world to the next.
This new production is staged by revered Japanese actor-director Yoshi Oïda, a veteran member of Peter Brook’s Parisian theatre company, and conducted by Martyn Brabbins.
