The acclaimed World War Two drama The Pianist Of Willesden Lane returns to the St James Theatre for a six-week season this autumn.
Featuring some of the world’s most beloved piano music played live on a Steinway concert grand piano, the play tells the story of a young Jewish pianist, Lisa Jura, who aspires to make her concert debut in 1938 Vienna.
But new ordinances issued under the Nazi regime result in Lisa being torn from her family and sent to Blitz-beset London via Kindertransport. A tale of family, hope and survival, Lisa fights to pursue her dream and play at the Musikverein concert hall.
Based on performer Mona Golabek’s family story, this is a moving evening not to be missed.
