Sylvie Guillem joins Ballet Boyz William Trevitt and Michael Nunn to perform the evening of Maliphant works which sold out when last performed at Sadler’s Wells in autumn 2004. In the Olivier Award-winning Broken Fall, created especially for the trio, the three dancers perform exhilarating, acrobatic moves that challenge both their strength and trust. Balances and falls are combined to great effect as their intertwined bodies experience this extreme test of physical endurance. Two finds Guillem performing solo, though Michael Hulls’s lighting creates the illusion of many swirling limbs. Torsion, the Ballet Boyz’s signature piece, finds Trevitt and Nunn taunting gravity with incredible displays of strength and balance.
