A story of women and astronomy, shortlisted for the Brighton Fringe / New Writing South Best New Play Award.
In ancient civilisations, temple priestesses meticulously mapped the heavens, seeking to understand their gods. And so astronomy was born.
This is a story of Time and Space: two women astronomers, Jessica Bell from the twenty first century and Caroline Herschel from the eighteenth look up at the same night sky and find themselves colliding in their search for understanding. Caroline longs for a family and home of her own; Jess contemplates the prospect of losing both. Whilst each woman can precisely map her position in the universe, both struggle to find their place in the world.
Take the Space, the company who brought Hanging Hooke, Dolce Via and Sam & I to Greenwich, reunite with Greenwich Theatre to present Stella at the London home of astronomy.
