From the golden age of musicals to the West End, Singin’ In The Rain brings the glamour of the MGM film to the Palace theatre.
Set at a time of change in the film world, Singin’ In The Rain follows silent movie star Don Lockwood who has everything he could ever want; fame, adulation and even a well-publicised romance with his co-star Lina Lamont. But there are rumours doing the rounds of a new kind of film that could alter everything, a kind of film where actors talk… and sing… and dance.
Singin’ In The Rain transfered to the Palace theatre from the Chichester Festival Theatre, where it enjoyed critical acclaim and a sell-out run in 2011.
Adam Cooper, who leads the cast of Singin’ In The Rain as Lockwood, is a former ballet dancer whose credits include a number of productions for the Royal Ballet and creating the role of the Swan in Matthew Bourne’s Swan Lake. His previous musical theatre credits include The Wizard Of Oz, Zorro and Guys And Dolls.
His Singin’ In The Rain co-star Louise Bowden boasts musical theatre credits including We Will Rock You, Mary Poppins and Mamma Mia!.
Jennifer Ellison may be best known for her long-running role in TV series Brookside, but has also appeared on stage in productions including Chicago, Boeing Boeing, Calendar Girls and Legally Blonde.
This production of Singin’ In The Rain is staged by special arrangement with Warner Bros. Theatre Ventures Inc.
