Set during the dissolution of the monasteries, a young passionate priest, persecuted by his enemies, is granted the power of life and death, using it to take revenge.

Howard Barker’s new play, though set in the Reformation, was inspired by today’s religious extremism and addresses many of the themes surrounding this issue.

The production is suitable for theatregoers aged 14 and over, as it contains swearing, sexually explicit language and situations, and some partial nudity.
