JLS’ Aston Merrygold, McFly’s Harry Judd, The Wanted’s Jay McGuiness and Olympic gymnast Louis Smith form the ultimate dance boy band for Rip It Up – The 60s, dancing the night away to the sounds of the revolutionary decade.
Having enjoyed a hugely successful 2018 UK-wide tour, Rip It Up – The 60s transfers to the West End’s Garrick Theatre for a limited run. The show brings the titular decade right into the 21st century, fusing a celebration of song, dance, acrobatics and amazing visuals with the sounds of The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, The Beach Boys, Motown, Elvis Presley, Bob Dylan, Aretha Franklin, Stevie Wonder – and more.
And if the star quartet’s performances on Strictly Come Dancing are anything to go by – McGuinness won the show in 2013 with partner Aliona Vilani, Smith in 2012 with Flavia Cacace, Judd in 2011 also with Vilani, and Merrygold reaching the latter stages of the 2017 competition with Janette Manrara – then audiences can expect them to truly Rip It Up!
With Aston and Jay’s golden voices singing, Harry storming the drums, and Louis performing the sensational gymnastic feats that led him to 4 Olympic medals from 3 separate Olympic Games, at the beating heart of the show is the fab four’s phenomenal dancing talent.
The four will be joined by an incredible cast of dancers, singers and the Rip It Up live band to celebrate the most revolutionary period with a psychedelic mix of music, style, culture, and fashion. Enjoy iconic sounds, sights and events from the period which shaped the 20th Century. The 60s are back with a bang!
