A revolution slowly brews in the mountains of a South American banana republic. When the rebel leader is captured, though, there is the chance to make an example of him and boost the country’s coffers. With a New York production company bidding big bucks for the television right to his death, a public crucifixion is called for. Global politics and the predatory nature of a media-saturated culture are satirised in Arthur Miller’s humorous and thought-provoking play.
