In the summer of 1991, Mikhail Gorbachev, President of the USSR was enjoying his holiday. Suddenly he and his family were imprisoned and cut off from the world.

Penny Gold drew inspiration from the diaries of Raisa Gorbacheva to create this new play, part political thriller and part personal drama, which focuses on a pivotal moment in world history.
