Award-winning US actor and director David Cromer directs this acclaimed stripped back version of Thornton Wilder’s iconic play.
Performed on a bare stage with minimal props, Our Town tells the story of two people who fall in love, marry and live out their lives as a small American town becomes an allegory of everyday life.
Cromer’s production of Our Town opened in Chicago in 2008. The following year it transferred to New York’s Barrow Street Theatre, where it won numerous awards.
The UK premiere of Cromer’s definitive version will see him reprise his role as Stage Manager. The role has previously been played by actors including Orson Welles, Frank Sinatra, Helen Hunt and Michael McKean in its previous radio, television and stage incarnations.
