Shakespeare’s darkest tale of paranoia and ambition is given a unique twist in this electrifying adaptation of Macbeth, which plays as part of the National Youth Theatre’s West End season.

Set in an unstable Europe in the lead up to the First World War, the tragedy takes audiences behind enemy lines as the severe intentions of a tormented Macbeth lead to dire consequences.

As empires rise and fall, this new take on a Shakespearean classic promises to echo present day divisions to thrilling effect.

Directed by Ed Hughes, the show plays as part of the NYT’s season, which also include Selfie and Private Peaceful.
