Cy Coleman’s light-hearted comic musical premiered on Broadway in 1962 and was last seen in the West End in 1984. The musical follows the rise and fall in the fortunes of Belle Schlumpfert, the rags-to-riches heroine who has monstrous bad luck. Along the way the score delivers such musical delights as Real Live Girl, I’ve Got Your Number and Deep Down Inside.
This is the 2007 show created by the National Youth Music Theatre, which offers young people the chance to perform in annual music theatre productions in professional theatres.
