Verdi’s masterpiece La Traviata returns to the London Coliseum with its heart-breaking tale of a lover’s sacrifice.

A tragic morality tale, La Traviata is the story of courtesan Violetta who is convinced to save her lover’s reputation, but in doing so dash her own chance of happiness.

Verdi’s hugely popular opera mixes an emotional tale and compelling characters with stirring, recognisable melodies.

This production is a revival of Peter Konwitschny’s acclaimed version that sets the story in an uncluttered, modern staging, cutting directly to the opera’s themes of passion, love and tragedy.

Elizabeth Zharoff makes her UK debut in the role of Violetta.
