Gill Adam’s play about one of the hottest topics to be explored in London Theatreland of late comes to the Charing Cross theatre following a national tour.
One of many upcoming London productions to focus on the Profumo Affair, Keeler explores model and showgirl Christine Keeler’s involvement in one of the most sensational scandals in 20th century British politics.
Based on the autobiography by Keeler and Douglas Thompson, the play takes audiences back to 1963 when Secretary of State John Profumo was forced to resign following the discovery that he had lied about his relationship with Keeler, an event that resulted in the resignation of Prime Minister Harold Macmillan and the suicide of osteopath Stephen Ward.
