Jekyll & Hyde is a classic gothic thriller. When a dry London lawyer discovers that his old friend Dr Henry Jekyll is protecting a fiendish young man known only as My Hyde, he goes about uncovering the roots of this bizarre relationship. Every stone he turns over leads him through the dark underworld of London until he discovers just how close these two men really are.
Jekyll & Hyde has been adapted from the Robert Louis Stevenson novel by James Maclaren, whose play Dark And Cavernous Walls played at the Baron’s Court Theatre in November 2008.
Giles Faulkner, who directs Jekyll & Hyde, was appointed Resident Director of the Union Theatre in December 2008. He has previously directed Caligula at the venue.
The Union Theatre, where Jekyll & Hyde is staged, is housed in the dark railway arches of Waterloo and won the Peter Brook Up-And-Coming Theatre Award in 2008.
