If You Kiss Me, Kiss Me receives its world premiere at the Young Vic and stars Jane Horrocks in a show quite unlike any other; part-dance, part-gig, but infused with theatricality, poignant choreography and sheer energy, guaranteed to get pulses racing.
Accompanied by a rip-roaring live band and a tireless company of sprightly dancers, director Aletta Collins applies gorgeously evocative choreography to the journey of one woman’s eventful life, transporting the Young Vic through her ambitions, love, maternity and, ultimately, loss.
Promising “a new kind of theatre” empowered by the energy of the best night out imaginable, Horrocks enraptures with her own soulful renditions of the soundtrack to her adolescence, the post-punk era filled with beloved bands such as Soft Cell, the Human League and Joy Division.
