Essex grandmother Lynnie escapes her nursing home to announce a deep-rooted secret: she claims to really be Marilyn Monroe, alive and well after faking her death, and planning to reveal herself to the world in new comic drama Hello Norma Jeane.
It is Spring 2003, and at the onset of a new war, Lynnie decides to flee her Stockthorpe-on-Sea nursing home and travel 8000 miles across the Atlantic to Hollywood, Los Angeles, plotting the greatest celebrity shock of the century.
Holed up in a rundown motel and awaiting the right moment, she is confronted by gay grandson Joe, who turns up to take her home but is startled by the realisation that he may actually be the grandson of a star, and soon finds himself also embroiled in the scheme.
But can Lynnie really be Marilyn Monroe?
Following a tremendously successful run at the King’s Head Theatre in 2014, Hello Norma Jeane returns to London for a four week run at the Park Theatre, and stars Vicki Michelle as Lynnie.
