Following a successful showing at this year’s Edinburgh Festival, Frances Ruffelle brings her solo show Beneath The Dress to London’s Garrick theatre for one night only.
Accompanied by a six-piece band, Ruffelle performs an array of songs exploring her musical influences, including compositions by Cole Porter, Duke Ellington and Kurt Weill.
Ruffelle is a West End regular who came into the public eye when she created the role of Eponine in the original cast of Les Miserables, winning a Tony Award when she took her performance to Broadway. Her credits also include Starlight Express and Chicago.
In addition Ruffelle, the daughter of stage-school maestro Sylvia Young, has released four solo albums and represented the UK in the 1994 Eurovision Song Contest. Her new album, Imperfectly Me, launches a day after this solo show.
