Premiered in 1978, Ira Levin’s Deathtrap is a thriller about a playwright whose former student asks for help with a play he is writing. The visit he then pays to his mentor’s home turns out to be more than a little eventful…
Deathtrap was a huge success when it opened in the West End in 1978, playing for over two years. It was subsequently made into a film starring Michael Caine and Christopher Reeve.
This revival of Deathtrap stars Simon Russell Beale, one of the UK’s most acclaimed actors whose recent work has included Much Ado About Nothing, London Assurance and Major Barbara at the National Theatre, The Bridge Project at the Old Vic and Monty Python’s Spamalot at the Palace theatre.
He is joined by star of American TV show Glee, Jonathan Groff, and Claire Skinner (Outnumbered).
Deathtrap is directed by Matthew Warchus, whose many West End hits include Boeing Boeing, Art, God Of Carnage and La Bete.
