Maureen Lipman stars in Daytona, actor Olivier Cotton’s haunting, funny and poignant play set in 1980s Brooklyn.
The play, which received its world premiere at the newly opened Park theatre earlier this year, tells the story of Elli and Joe, who have a shared passion for ballroom dancing. They’re intent on winning the next big competition, but the couple is soon interrupted by a figure from the past who threatens to throw everything off balance.
Much-loved British actress Lipman, whose theatre credits include Old Money at the Hampstead theatre and the National Theatre’s production of Oklahoma!, is joined in the cast by Harry Shearer (The Simpsons) and John Bowe (Sweeney Todd).
