Ed Harris makes his West End debut at Trafalgar Studios 1 in the transfer of the critically lauded Broadway family drama Buried Child.
5 time Oscar Nominee and Golden Globe winner Harris will co-star with Academy Award nominee and wife Amy Madigan in the transfer of Sam Shepard’s Putlizer Prize-winning play, fresh from critical acclaim on Broadway.
Harris and Madigan play couple Dodge and Halie, two 1979 rural American farmers who are desperate to hang on to their farmland – and sanity – while looking after two wayward grown sons. But the arrival of their grandson Vince sets into motion a chain of confusion and chaotic events, while the rest of the family dances around a dark secret.
Wildly poetic, cuttingly funny and playing to a backdrop of recession and political unrest, the parallels between then and now are compelling, casting a brutal light on disenfranchised Americans and their threadbare deluded visions of families and homes. This is a dark, macabre and painfully funny drama.
