The plot follows a middle-aged journalist who takes a twenty-something family friend to a hotel for the night. Following an unsuccessful stab at seduction, he gets more forceful about his desires. In the morning, however, proceedings take an unexpected turn when a soldier bursts into the room and things go from bad to worse.
Kane’s play explores the horrors of war, the fragility of peace and the fracturing of civilised society.
