After drawing critical acclaim and packed houses on its tour of the UK, BalletBoyz’ The Talent returns to Sadler’s Wells after its debut in the spring. The evening features two stunning dance works by multi-award-winning choreographer and Sadler’s Wells Associate Artist Russell Maliphant, and Royal Ballet Artist in Residence Liam Scarlett.

BalletBoyz is one of the most cheekily original and innovative forces in modern dance and has thrilled audiences and critics the world over with its distinctive style, fusing spectacular dance, both energetic and graceful, with groundbreaking music and film. For The Talent 2013, ten exceptional young male dancers were handpicked to perform by former Royal Ballet lead dancers Michael Nunn and William Trevitt.

Serpent is Liam Scarlett’s first commission for BalletBoyz, and his first choreographed work to use contemporary dancers. A beautiful study of union and virtuosity, it features a haunting score by acclaimed UK composer Max Richter.

Fallen, by Sadler’s Wells Associate Artist Russell Maliphant, is a “darkly thrilling” (The Observer) display of grace and power, featuring a specially composed score by award-winning French cinema composer Armand Amar. Both works feature “exquisite lighting” (The Times) by Sadler’s Wells Associate Artist Michael Hulls.
