Ave Maya is a ballet gala in memory of Maya Plisetskaya, the legendary Russian ballerina who would have celebrated her 90^th birthday in November 2015.

Presented by Ensemble Productions, the Gala, under the artistic direction of Andris Liepa, will present world-renowned dancers performing her favourite roles as well as works by choreographers that were originally created for Maya Plisetskaya, including Bolero and Carmen by Alberto Alonso.

To mark Plisetskaya’s passion for flamenco dance there will also be a special flamenco virtuoso number. The evening is part of the annual Russian Ballet Icons Gala series.
