Michelle Terry returns to Shakespeare’s Globe to play Rosalind in Blanche McIntyre’s take on the Bard’s classic comedy As You Like It.

Running the glorious gamut of pastoral romance, As You Like It tells the story of Rosalind, the daughter of an unjustly exiled duke who falls in love with the wronged Orlando, a courtier deprived of his birth right by his brother.

Her usurping uncle – jealous of her popularity – banishes her from court, but, disguised as a boy and accompanied by her cousin Celia, she seeks out her father and his friends in the Forest of Arden. There she meets Orlando again and, under the guise of a young man, counsels him in the art of love.

Terry follows acclaimed performances in 2013’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream and 2009’s Love’s Labour’s Lost at the venue to take on the role of As You Like It’s Rosalind. Her credits elsewhere include Before The Party at the Almeida, In The Republic Of Happiness and Tribes at the Royal Court, and National Theatre productions of The Comedy Of Errors, London Assurance, All’s Well That Ends Well and England People Very Nice.
