Lauded director Max Stafford-Clark forms an evening of politically satirical short plays in A View From Islington North, featuring some of the UK’s most celebrated playwrights including David Hare and Caryl Churchill.

The Accidental Leader and How To Get Ahead In Politics see Alistair Beaton and Stella Feehily respectively expose the machinations behind the closed doors of our political parties, while David Hare transports us to inside the mind of current Chancellor of the Exchequer George Osborne in Ayn Rand Takes A Stand.

The Mother examines the collateral damage of our military “adventures” as Mark Ravenhill paints the portrait of the eponymous woman doing all she can to avoid the inevitable dreadful news, and Caryl Churchill’s Tickets Are Now On Sale questions the effect of sponsorship on the content of art.

The Arts Theatre hosts this pertinent, provocative and entertaining evening of exploration behind the spin-shined masquerade of the political world, with many of the plays previously performed by Stafford-Clark’s well-received theatre company, Out of Joint.
