Shakespeare’s much-loved comedy A Midsummer Night’s Dream comes to London once more in a production by the Royal Shakespeare Company as part of its season at the Novello. 

When four friends and lovers flee into a forest they unexpectedly find themselves in the middle of an argument between the King and Queen of the fairies. A liberal dosage of love potion and a mischievous fairy see to it that everyone is confused about who they love. 

Director Gregory Doran also directed David Tennant in Hamlet, a production which opened the RSC’s season in London this Christmas. Chief Associate Director at the RSC, Doran has previously directed productions of Antony And Cleopatra, Coriolanus, All’s Well That Ends Well, Titus Andronicus and Chaucer’s The Canterbury Tales. He last directed A Midsummer Night’s Dream at the Novello two years ago.

A Midsummer Night’s Dream is followed in the RSC season by The Taming Of The Shrew.
