Olivier Award-winners The Isango Ensemble return to the Young Vic with A Man Of Good Hope, a musical following one refugee’s epic venture across Africa.

Adapted from Jonny Steinberg’s riveting book, the show centres on Asad, a young Somali refugee seeking to flee his painful past.

With a smart eye for business and some miraculously good luck on his side, he hustles in the streets of Ethiopia until he is ready to set off for the promised land: South Africa. But it’s what he finds upon his arrival that really changes his life.

A true story, Asad’s epic quest bursts from the stage with show-stopping song and roof-lifting dance accompanied on the marimba, transporting audiences to the heartland of the continent. With a 2008 Olivier Award-winning revival of The Magic Flute to their name already, The Isango Ensemble are sure to provide an astounding on-stage tale not to be missed.
