4.48 Psychosis is Sarah Kane’s brutal and poetic exploration of a mind preparing to shut itself down. Spiked with gallows humour, Kane’s fifth and final play charts the journey of a mind and body from darkness into light, from pain into love, from life into death.
This new production of 4.48 Psychosis is directed by Christian Beneditti, the Artistic Director of Théâtre-Studio Alfortville. Benedetti has created pioneering work with some of the most challenging and exceptional contemporary playwrights including Edward Bond and Kane.
Anamaria Marinca, who performs 4.48 Psychosis, won a BAFTA for her performance in the Channel 4 film Sex Traffic. She also played the lead role in Cristian Mungiu’s film 4 Months, 3 Weeks And 2 Days, which won the Palme d’Or at the 2007 Cannes Film Festival.
