We’re prepared to testify to an exciting announcement this afternoon. The Olivier Award-nominated revival of Agatha Christie’s Witness For The Prosecution will enter a third year in its immersive London County Hall setting, having announced a massive extension and a brilliant new cast.
Shetland and Emmerdale actress Carolin Stoltz will lead the new cast, who’ll be sworn in from 28 May 2019. She’ll portray Romaine Vole, wife of the accused Leonard Vole (played by former Billy Elliot The Musical actor Lewis Cope). They’ll be joined by Simon Dutton (star of Not Going Out) as Sir Wilfrid Robarts, Giles Taylor (This House, West End) as Mr Myers QC, and Michael Cochrane (The Archers) as Mr Justice Wainwright.
The new Witness For The Prosecution cast will be completed by Max Dinnen, Janet Fullerlove, Kara Grace-Paseda, Jessica Hole, Francesca Knight, Joe Shire, Paul Lancaster, Nicholas Osmond, Michael Weaver and Karl Wilson.
The play will be booking at London County Hall until 29 March 2020. The extension marks another successful chapter for the site-specific production, which recently surpassed the original West End run at the Winter Garden Theatre (now the Gillian Lynne Theatre).
Positioning the audience right at the heart of a roller-coaster trial, Witness For The Prosecution is a story of justice, passion and betrayal – with high stakes and murderous consequences in store.
When Leonard Vole is accused of murdering a widow in a bid to inherit her wealth, the hangman’s noose beckons. And that’s before a shocking witness testimony…
