West End stars Glenn Carter, Stephen Rahman Hughes, David Thaxton and Matt Willis will join Lee Mead and Kerry Ellis in the forthcoming theatrical concert spectacular The West End Men.
The Mitch Sebastian production, which celebrates the West End’s leading men with performances of some of the most popular songs from the West End, Broadway and beyond, will see the company of musical theatre veterans return to their spiritual home in the West End, complete with a full band and choir, for a limited run at the Vaudeville theatre from 25 May to 22 June.
All four additions to the company have more than earned their prestigious leading men status with a hugely impressive list of iconic show credits between them from modern hit such as Wicked and Jersey Boys to classics Godspell and Chess.
Carter was most recently seen donning the Jersey Boys’ famous red jacket, but is arguably best known for his starring role in Andrew Lloyd Webber’s Jesus Christ Superstar in the West End, on Broadway and in the hit film, and has appeared in more than 25 Lloyd Webber concerts. The actor also boasts roles in a long list of classics including Whistle Down The Wind, Les Misérables, Joseph And The Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, Grease, Chess, Godspell, Alfie and Merrily We Roll Along.
Alongside appearances in West Side Story, Drive Ride Walk and Bombay Dreams, fellow West End man Rahman Hughes is also an award-winning choreographer, member of vocal group Teatro and a well-known face on screen with credits including Emmerdale, Bad Girls and Doctors.
Thaxton joins the company with an Olivier Award win under his musical theatre belt following his starring role in the Donmar Warehouse’s Passion. A former Les Misérables cast member, the actor also starred in Lloyd Webber’s Love Never Dies.
Completing the line-up, Willis, who is still best known for his part in BRIT Award-winning band Busted, made his West End debut in Flashdance The Musical and has since starred in Wicked and the UK tour of Footloose The Musical.
As with the previously announced Ellis, the show’s leading lady, Carter and Rahman Hughes will only be appearing at selected performances of the show.
