Cast members from some of the West End’s biggest shows will take to the Palace theatre stage on 29 March for a benefit concert to help the victims of the recent Australian bushfires and floods.
Performers from Oliver!, Priscilla Queen Of The Desert The Musical, Sister Act, La Clique, Dirty Dancing, The Sound Of Music, The Lion King, La Cage Aux Folles, Zorro and Jersey Boys will be lending their talents to the one-off concert entitled West End’s Sunday Best, held in aid of the British Red Cross Australian Bushfires Appeal.
Hosted by Australian actor Simon Burke, who recently played Captain von Trapp in The Sound Of Music at the London Palladium, the concert will also feature special guest appearances from Australian West End stars Jason Donovan, Philip Quast and Oliver!’s Tamsin Carroll, plus antipodean artist and singer Rolf Harris.
Puppetry Of The Penis, The Flying Pickets, String Divas and Rat Pack’s Back are also confirmed in the line up.
West End’s Sunday Best is a response to the devastating bushfires that ravaged South Australia in February, killing over 200 people and making thousands homeless. Proceeds from the concert will go to the British Red Cross appeal to help the victims of the fires, as well as those affected by the flash flooding that also hit the north of the country.
