It’s the role of a (young) lifetime! Forthcoming London musical Waitress has revealed its youngest cast members, who’ll share the role of Lulu – and we were there to see auditions in action!
Coached by Waitress’ director, Tony Award winner Diane Paulus, the young actresses were all in the running for a pivotal part at the auditions. And it was announced today that, at just four and six years old respectively, Fifi Christophers and Arabella Duffy will make their West End debuts, sharing the role of Lulu! Watch how they fared in our exclusive video below:
It tops off an exciting week for Waitress fans, as previews of the hit Broadway musical begin this weekend, playing from Saturday 8 February. Its official opening night falls on Thursday 7 March.
Waitress is based on the 2007 film of the same name, with a score from the six-time Grammy-nominated Sara Bareilles. It tells the story of Jenna (played in the West End by Smash’s Katharine McPhee), an expert pie maker stuck in a small town and destructive marriage. Can she find the resolve to rebuild her life? A story of friendship, motherhood – and pie – awaits.
Waitress is currently booking at the Adelphi Theatre until 25 May.
