It’s a fitting way to bid a fond farewell to the original ‘Jenna’ in the West End. Waitress are releasing a single of Katharine McPhee’s rendition of She Used To Be Mine, ahead of her final performance in the show this Saturday (15 June).
The heart-rending ballad, written by Sara Bareilles, comes at a pivotal turning point in the plot, and has inspired numerous covers by artists all over the world. So it’s only fitting that London’s first Jenna has had hers recorded for posterity – and you can listen to it via streaming platforms right here.
The recording follows the news that Lucie Jones, Ashley Roberts and Blake Harrison will be joining the cast from this coming Monday (17 June), playing Jenna, Dawn and Ogie respectively.

Waitress is the smash-hit musical comedy about Jenna, a waitress and expert pie-maker trapped in a loveless marriage and dreaming of a way out. When an attractive new doctor turns up, things begin to get even more complicated – but laughter, love and friendship might just provide her with the way out.
The production officially opened in the West End on 7 March, and is currently booking at London’s Adelphi Theatre up to 19 October.
Waitress is also participating in Kids Week; throughout August, a child aged 16 or under can go free when accompanied by an adult paying full price. Adults can also purchase up to two extra children’s tickets at half price, and there are no booking fees to pay.
