There’s only one Sherlock Holmes. Okay, strictly speaking there are many Sherlock Holmeses, a certain Mr Cumberbatch being arguably the most high profile. But we’re yet to see – and correct us if we’re wrong – the world famous fictional detective guessing lunchtime choices from sniffing hands, or unveiling childhood memories simply from seemingly gazing into eyes or watching movement-free imagined typing.
That is exactly what the scarily astute and endearingly charismatic Colin Cloud achieved with our own Kate Stanbury when we met the ‘magician’ earlier this autumn to talk about the new show he’ll be starring in alongside six – seven in November – more of the world’s finest conjurers ,The Illusionists: Witness The Impossible.
Already a hit in the US, the show brings Cloud together with Britain’s Got Talent star Jamie Raven, escapologist Andrew Basso, inventor Kevin James, death-defier Ben Blaque, comic conjurer David Williamson, light-fingered Den Den and, for a limited time, Tricked’s Ben Hanlin, for an evening of the world’s finest magic.
See what Cloud told us about the show in the video above, then be wowed as he tells us more than we ever knew about our colleague.
