Emma Williams is something of a phenomenon. Not just because the Mrs Henderson Presents star has had three Olivier Award nominations so far in her career, her latest making her a contender for the coveted statuette at this year’s ceremony, but because somehow she fits in training for the London marathon while performing eight shows in the weekend each week!
Had we learned this fact at the beginning of our interview, it may well have rendered us speechless, which would have made interviewing a tad more difficult. Almost as difficult, one might suggest, as training for the London marathon while leading a West End musical eight shows a week!
The new British musical, with music by George Fenton and Simon Chamberlain, tells the tale of the Windmill Theatre, London’s only theatre to stay open during the Blitz, which attracted patrons with the promise of nude performers.
We asked Williams about the show and coping with baring all in rehearsals and on stage. See what she told us in the video above.
Mrs Henderson Presents is booking at the Noël Coward Theatre until 18 June. You can book tickets through us here.
