When your show’s strapline is “Contains singing, hilarity and sambuca”, the cast of Our Ladies Of Perpetual Succour ought to prove dab hands at the art of cocktail-making – and so it proved as they undertook a class at Skylon Restaurant Bar & Grill!
And, with the show featuring, amongst others, the songs of ELO, they named their creation Mr. Blue Sky – naturally.
Our Ladies Of Perpetual Succour is adapted by the creator of Billy Elliot (Lee Hall) from Alan Warner’s brilliant novel The Sopranos, centring on six young friends on the cusp of change. The uplifting and moving story sees six Catholic school girls from Oban let loose in Edinburgh for the day, with funny, raucous and heart-breaking consequences.
Our Ladies is a glorious anthem to friendship, youth and growing up disgracefully. Prepare thyself for 24 hours of holy chaos.
The show is playing at the Duke of York’s Theatre until 2 September.
