Scones, champagne, a roaring fire and loose leaf tea in elegant china; it’s fair to say such decadence is not the usual set up for the Official London Theatre team, but that’s where we found ourselves last week for the first in our new series of Afternoon Tea with the Stars events.
Taking place at the incredible Rosewood London – take it from us, its five star rating doesn’t begin to do this scrumptiously stylish hotel justice – an audience of avid Wicked fans gathered in the intimate surrounds of the jewel-like Mirror Room to enjoy a delicious afternoon of culinary treats and scintillating conversation.
Taking centre stage were Official London Theatre’s Matthew Amer and Jennifer DiNoia and Savannah Stevenson, Wicked’s latest leading pair to tackle the demanding and much-loved roles of Elphaba and Glinda in the hugely successful musical’s tale that imagines exactly what happened before Dorothy turned up in the land of Oz.
From the spine-tingling moments that make their hearts race with excitement when performing nightly as the two misunderstood witches, to making the now iconic roles their own, you can catch highlights from the interview in the video above.
