Last month we found ourselves prematurely in the festive spirit with the news that a host of West End stars had been busy recording charity EP A Very West End Christmas. Fast forward 30 chilly days, dozens of mince pies and several Advent calendar doors, and the musically gifted gang has released a video of one of the most popular Yuletide hits ever, Do They Know It’s Christmas?, to coincide with the EP’s first week on sale.
If you’ve ever wanted to see what your favourite star would look like in a Christmas pudding jumper or who would nab the indisputably best line of all – “Tonight thank God it’s them, instead of you”, obviously – watch the YouTube video above of stars including Cynthia Erivo and Michael Xavier, both of whom will be seen on the West End stage in major new musicals next year when I Can’t Sing! and The Pajama Game open, donning Christmas jumpers and headphones all in the name of a range of good causes including CRY UK, Great Ormond Street Hospital and The Band Aid Charitable Trust.
