Sally Ann Triplett, Norman Bowman and Niamh Perry are to join the cast of Mamma Mia! at the Prince of Wales theatre on 15 June.

Triplett, who takes over from Linzi Hateley in the lead role of Donna Sheridan, is a West End regular whose credits include Anything Goes, Guys And Dolls, Chicago and Take Flight.

Bowman, who plays Sam Carmichael, also starred in the cast of Guys And Dolls. In addition to his numerous musical credits, which include High School Musical, Parade and Lady Be Good, Bowman exercised his Shakespearean talents in the Donmar Warehouse production of Twelfth Night at the Wydham’s theatre last Christmas.

Perry joins them to play Sophie Sheridan. A former contestant on the BBC’s search for a Nancy, I’d Do Anything, Perry went on to appear in Only The Brave at the Edinburgh Festival.

Mamma Mia!, which recently celebrated its 10th birthday in the West End, sets the music of Swedish supergroup ABBA to a fictional storyline by Catherine Johnson in which a girl attempts to discover the identity of her father on the eve of her wedding.

As well as spawning productions around the world, the musical achieved even greater success last year when a big screen version, starring Meryl Streep as Donna, became a worldwide hit.

The new cast at the Prince of Wales also includes Katy Secombe as Rosie and Christopher Hollis as Bill. They join existing cast members Jodie Read, Jane Gurnett, Paul Ryan, Oliver Hembrough and Laura Selwood.
