Trevor Nunn to direct Fiddler On The Roof at Menier

One of the most loved musicals of all time, Fiddler On The Roof, will be revived at the Menier Chocolate Factory to play over the Christmas period.

In a new staging by former RSC and National Theatre artistic director Sir Trevor Nunn, the joyous show will play from 23 November, opening officially on 5 December, and running until 9 March 2019.

And it’s set to prove the perfect yuletide musical for a merry Menier Christmas, telling the uplifting tale of Tevye the milkman, his wife and five daughters, who – through songs including ‘Sunrise, Sunset’, ‘If I Were A Rich Man’, and ‘Matchmaker, Matchmaker’ – enjoy celebrations To Life – L’chaim!

The production will mark the first occasion Fiddler On The Roof has been performed on the London stage in over 10 years; it was last revived in the West End in May 2007, with Henry Goodman as Teyve.

The show also sees Nunn return to the Menier Chocolate Factory following his recent smash-hit shows Lettice And Lovage, Love In Idleness (also West End), and A Little Night Music (West End and Broadway).

Casting for Fiddler On The Roof will be announced in due course, with tickets going on sale to Menier supporters on 28 August, and to the public on 5 September, through the theatre’s website. It follows the runs of Spamilton, The Hamilton Parody Musical, and the recently announced Pack Of Lies, at the Southwark venue.
