Musical theatre fans should make sure they’re all Twittered up over the next month, as the stars of hit musical Top Hat will be joining Official London Theatre on the social networking site for a series of take over interviews.
We’ll be letting the tap dancing cast loose on our Twitter stream @O_L_T before midweek matinees in the coming weeks, and letting you ask the questions.

8 November 12:30 – Summer Strallen. The show’s leading lady, whose other credits include, Love Never Dies, The Drowsy Chaperone and The Sound Of Music, was the first cast member to hop onto our Twitter channel eager to answer your questions. You can see highlights of the conversation here.
13 November 12:30 – Vivien Parry. Top Hat’s Madge Hardwick, a performer with a host of experience in the West End and across the UK, answered questions about Fred and Ginger, pre-show rituals and favourite co-stars. See highlights here.
15 November 12:30 – Stephen Boswell. The performer who plays butler Bates in the show boasts a CV stretching from panto to Shakespeare and from cutting edge theatre to Ali G Indahouse. See highlights here.
20 November 12:30 – Martin Ball. Parry’s partner in crime, Ball, who has appeared in Les Misérables, Mary Poppins, Wicked and Mamma Mia!, plays Horace Hardwick in Top Hat. See higlights here.
22 November 12:30 – Ricardo Afonso. The Portuguese star who plays Top Hat’s comedy Italian Alberto Beddini is best known for his appearances in a very different musical, We Will Rock You. See highlights here.
29 November – Charlotte Gooch (12:00) and Tom Chambers (12:30). A double bill to bring our season of Twitter Q&As to an end. Gooch is the actress with the tough job of following Strallen as Chambers’ leading lady. Wonder how she’s feeling about the takeover? Just ask. A former star of Holby City, Chambers danced into hearts when he put on his ballroom shoes to appear on Strictly Come Dancing. From our experience, he’s always happy to chat about almost anything.

Top Hat, the hugely popular London musical based on the classic Fred Astaire film, opened at the Aldwych theatre in May, when the tale of love, confusion and tap dancing was described as “deliciously tuneful escapism” (Daily Mail), “divinely irresistible” (Independent) and “ridiculously enjoyable” (Mail On Sunday). With a collection of classic Irving Berlin songs wrapped up in exquisite dance numbers it has wowed West End audiences and is currently booking until September 2013.
