A new musical adaptation of The Three Musketeers will be the Rose theatre Kingston’s Christmas production this year, playing from 27 November to 2 January.
The Three Musketeers, which is suitable for theatregoers aged 10 and over, conjures sultry Parisian summers as it tells Alexandre Dumas’s famous story about D’Artagnan and his quest to join the legendary musketeers.
George Stiles, whose work with collaborator Anthony Drewe includes Mary Poppins, Just So and Honk!, has written an original score for The Three Musketeers, which will be the Rose theatre’s first home-produced musical.
Stephen Unwin, Artistic Director of the Rose theatre, said: “We’re building a reputation for presenting adaptations of classic novels at Christmas and it’s great to be stretching our wings and staging a musical.”
The show is co-produced by Bud Martin, whose recent shows include Legally Blonde The Musical in the West End and 9 To 5 on Broadway.
