This week Jess spoke to Olivier Award nominee Debbie Kurup on the return of The Prince Of Egypt and how she’s feeling about rehearsals starting. She also talks to Kate Pakenham about the exciting new immersive show, The Money. Find out how the show works and which people have been awarded ACTUAL money at the end of the show!
We chatted to Debbie about her lockdown habits – from bread-making to completing a whole new degree! But from looking back to looking forward, we talked about how excited – and a little bit nervous – she is to be #BackOnStage with the epic production of The Prince Of Egypt, in which she plays Queen Tuya.
The epic tale of family, feuding and war will be back at the Dominion Theatre from 1 July, so grab your tickets to get swept up in an incredible ensemble musical of biblical proportions.
Our second guest of the evening, Kate Pakenham – executive producer at the Donmar Theatre – came on to tell us all about the unique new immersive show at London County Hall.
She talks about how The Money came into being – thought up back in 2013 – and how the weird and wonderful show works. As the ticket money forms a pot of money, members of the audience have to decide unanimously what to do with this wealth.
From funding a violinist to play on Covid wards in North Wales to one woman buying a brand new washing machine, you can use the money for anything you like, as long as you all agree.
You can find out even more about Debbie’s theatrical career in the Tell Us In 10 interview she recently did for us.
