The Great Gatsby is London’s longest running immersive theatrical production that takes you on a trip back to the twenties where F Scott Fitzgerald’s iconic fictional character, Jay Gatsby, is your host. The champagne flows and the drama unfolds in this hedonistic world of red hot rhythms, bootleg liquor and pure jazz age self-indulgence awaits.
Jess talks to Brian all about his journey into the theatre industry and finds out what a creative producers does including appointing a director to a show, raising the investment for a show, and generally speaking putting together a team that creates a show. Diving into the history of Immersive Everywhere, how their journey came about (including putting on a magnificent Christmas Carol) and how The Great Gatsby came to fruition. The aim of their immersive projects is to taking stories and put the audiences right in the centre of the story. While Brian admits that he loves creating the traditional work like Amélie The musical, he says that their team are also very interested in allowing the audience to dress up and really get involved in the experience and immerse themselves in the story.
He believes that are stories best told by allowing audience members to meet the characters, have conversations with them, explore the text and have some beautiful moments!
