Storme Toolis Tell Us In 10

Tell Us In 10: Storme Toolis

By Kitty Underwood Published 13 November 2019

In our profile series, Tell Us In 10, we ask cast members and creatives of top London shows to tell us all about themselves in just 10 questions.

This week we’ve got a special takeover from the cast of A Day In The Death Of Joe Egg, currently playing at Trafalgar Studios until 30 November. We hear from Storme Toolis, Claire Skinner and Lucy Eaton.

Storme Toolis plays Joe Egg, and marks the first actor with cerebral palsy to play the role on the West End. You may recognise her from the Inbetweeners Movie, the BBC documentary on Redefining Juliet or even her recent Maltesers advert!

1. My route into theatre was…

Not through drama school! Getting an agent through my undergraduate degree and working in TV first.

2. My West End idol is…

Helena Bonham Carter.

3. My colleagues would describe me as…

Funny, optimistic and a huge tea drinker.

4. My favourite show present or past (that isn’t one I star in) is…

Redefining Juliet.

5. The career moment I’m most proud of is…

Getting cast in my first West End show.

6. The hardest part about my role is…

The inconsistent battle of acting.

7. If I didn’t work in theatre I would be…

An English teacher.

8. Something people don’t know about me is…

I’m a huge fan of true crime.

9. The best piece of advice I’ve ever been given is…

Don’t punk out. Be resilient. Keep going.

10. The one thing I wish I could tell my younger self is…

Trust your process.
